Which XREAL glasses to buy

For most people, the XREAL 1S ($449) is the XREAL to buy. It replaced the original XREAL One in January 2026, with taller 1920 × 1200 displays, a 52° view, built-in 3DoF tracking and automatic dimming, for less than the One Pro.

For a wider view: the One Pro or the new 1 Pro+, both $599 with a 57° view; the 1 Pro+ adds 1,200 nits and AI HDR. Cheapest and lightest: the xbx a01+ ($299), with no tracking. For gaming: the ROG XREAL R1 ($849), with a 240 Hz mode and a dock in the box. XREAL AURA is a different product: Android XR glasses on pre-order at $1,279.

XREAL has more display glasses on sale than ever, and the names don't make the order obvious. The XREAL One is gone from XREAL's product pages, replaced by the 1S; the One Pro is still sold, now joined by a 1 Pro+ at the same price; and the xbx a01+, ROG XREAL R1 and AURA each aim at a different buyer.

Start with the lineup table, then read the section for the model you're considering. To compare XREAL with VITURE, RayNeo and Rokid, see our best AR glasses guide.

How we checked

Checked 16 October 2026 against XREAL's US store, product pages and specification pages. We haven't tested these glasses. XREAL listed the 1 Pro+ on its US store on 15 October without a full specification sheet, so its resolution and weight aren't published yet. Brightness figures are XREAL's own; it quotes the One series' brightness as perceived brightness, the light that reaches your eye.

XREAL 1S: the one most people should buy

XREAL launched the 1S on 4 January 2026 and calls it the “market replacement” for the original XREAL One. Compared with the One, it has a taller 1920 × 1200 picture per eye (the One was 1920 × 1080), a slightly wider 52° view (up from 50°), 700 nits (up from 600), automatic dimming, and a lighter 82 g frame (down from 84 g). Its X1 chip gives built-in 3DoF, so the screen stays put on any device without an app, and you can set the virtual screen distance from 1 to 10 metres.

It costs $449 at XREAL, $150 less than the One Pro. XREAL still sells the original One at $399, but its product page has gone, so we’d pay the extra $50 for the 1S. For short-sightedness, XREAL says the 1S uses the same prescription lens design as the One.

Choose it for films, games and work on a screen that stays in place, at a sensible price. Skip it if you want the widest view; the One Pro and 1 Pro+ go to 57°.

One Pro vs 1 Pro+: for a wider view

Both cost $599 and share a 57° field of view, Sony micro-OLED displays, built-in 3DoF from the X1 chip, Bose-tuned sound and two frame sizes for different eye spacing: M for 57–66 mm and L for 66–75 mm.

  • XREAL One Pro: launched in June 2025, with 1920 × 1080 per eye, 700 nits and 87 g. XREAL has cut it from $649 to $599.
  • XREAL 1 Pro+: listed on 15 October 2026. XREAL quotes 1,200 nits peak brightness with “AI HDR”, automatic dimming and what it calls an “ultra-low 3ms” motion-to-photon latency. XREAL hasn’t yet published its resolution or weight.

On what XREAL has published so far, the 1 Pro+ is the brighter one at the same price. If you need to see the full specification sheet first, the One Pro’s is complete. Both need the $99 XREAL Eye for 6DoF. Our XREAL One Pro vs VITURE Pro comparison covers the One Pro’s fit and software in more depth.

xbx a01+: the lightest and cheapest

XREAL’s xbx a01+ went on sale on 10 July 2026 at $299. It weighs 62 g, or 56 g without its detachable front frame, with a 50° view, micro-OLED displays at up to 120 Hz and directional speakers (XREAL). XREAL offers custom prescription lenses from 0 to −10.00D, and lists a wide 54.5–74.5 mm IPD range.

The catch is tracking: XREAL calls it a “0DoF portable big screen”, so the screen moves with your head. XREAL lists iPhone 15, 16 and 17, iPad, Android phones with video output, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC as direct connections, and Switch, Switch 2 and Lightning iPhones with an adapter.

Choose it for the lowest price and weight, or for strong short-sightedness. Skip it if you want the screen to stay in place.

ROG XREAL R1: for gaming

ASUS and XREAL announced the R1 at CES on 5 January 2026. It has a 57° view, 1920 × 1080 per eye, 700 nits and built-in 3DoF, in a 91 g frame (XREAL). Its headline is a 240 Hz mode, which XREAL says works “through image scaling”, and the box includes the ROG dock, which a Nintendo Switch needs to connect.

It costs $849 at XREAL, where the page still said “Expected to ship September 2026” on 16 October, and $849.99 at ASUS’s US store, listed as in stock. There’s no diopter dial; the box includes a blank insert your optician can fit with prescription lenses.

Choose it if you play fast games on a handheld PC or Switch and want the high refresh rate and dock. Skip it for films and work, where the 1S or One Pro gives you the same tracking for less.

XREAL AURA: Android XR, not display glasses

AURA is XREAL’s Android XR headset in glasses form: a 70° see-through display at 1920 × 1200 per eye, 6DoF tracking, hand tracking and five levels of transparency, in a 95 g frame connected to a pocket processor. It runs Android XR apps rather than only mirroring a device, though the processor also accepts a DisplayPort connection from a PC or handheld.

XREAL’s store lists it at $1,279 (12 GB, 256 GB) or $1,499 (16 GB, 512 GB) as a full-payment pre-order, “expected to ship before the holidays”. On 7 October XREAL opened pre-orders to customers with paid reservations, saying orders would open to the public “in the coming weeks”.

XREAL Eye, Hub and Beam Pro

  • XREAL Eye ($99): a 12 MP camera that attaches to the glasses and adds 6DoF, so the screen stays put when you move, not only when you turn your head. XREAL lists it for the One and One Pro series, and its 1S and 1 Pro+ pages say it enables 6DoF on those too.
  • XREAL Hub ($39.99): the adapter that connects the 1S and One Pro to a Nintendo Switch.
  • Beam Pro (from $199): XREAL’s Android device for spatial apps and multiple screens, if your phone doesn’t support video output.

XREAL still lists the older Air 2 ($199) and Air 2 Pro ($249, sold out) on its US store; we haven’t covered them here.

XREAL glasses FAQ

What's the difference between the XREAL 1S and the One Pro?

The One Pro has a wider 57° view against the 1S's 52°. The 1S has a taller 1920 × 1200 picture per eye against 1920 × 1080, automatic dimming, an 82 g frame against 87 g, and costs $449 against $599. Both have the same 700-nit brightness figure and built-in 3DoF.

Is the XREAL 1S better than the XREAL One?

On paper, yes: a taller picture, a slightly wider 52° view, 700 nits instead of 600 and automatic dimming, in a slightly lighter frame. XREAL calls it the One's replacement. The One is still on XREAL's store at $399.

What is the XREAL 1 Pro+?

A new model XREAL listed on 15 October 2026 at $599, the same price as the One Pro, with the same 57° view, 1,200 nits peak brightness, AI HDR and automatic dimming. XREAL hadn't published its resolution or weight when we checked.

Do XREAL glasses work with iPhone?

Yes. XREAL lists the iPhone 15, 16 and 17 series, connected directly by USB-C, for the 1S and One Pro. Lightning iPhones need an adapter; our AR glasses for iPhone guide explains the options.

Do XREAL glasses work with Nintendo Switch 2?

Yes, through the $39.99 XREAL Hub for the 1S and One Pro, which XREAL lists for Switch, Switch 2 and Switch OLED. The ROG XREAL R1 uses its included dock instead.

Do XREAL glasses work for people who wear glasses?

Not with a dial: XREAL uses prescription inserts for the One series ($49.90 to $69.90 for the One Pro and 1 Pro+), custom lenses for the xbx a01+ (to −10.00D), and a blank insert for your optician on the R1.

Is XREAL AURA worth waiting for?

Only if you want Android XR apps placed around you, with hand tracking, rather than a big screen for a phone or console. It's a pre-order at $1,279 or $1,499, against $449 for the 1S.
